Generally, sirens are typically activated only when flood levels exceed predefined warning or danger thresholds and do not operate continuously throughout the disaster period. As a result, critical information may not be available to new arrivals or individuals who miss the initial warning. To address this limitation, the Smart Flood Tower (SFT) can be installed to provide continuous visual alerts throughout the duration of the flood event.
The Smart Flood Tower delivers flood warning information through high-intensity visual warning lights. It is connected to flood monitoring sensors via a wireless or mobile network. When water levels at monitoring locations exceed predefined warning or danger thresholds, the flood monitoring station automatically activates the Smart Flood Tower, triggering distinct warning signals.
The tower uses color-coded lighting to indicate flood severity: yellow lights represent warning conditions, while red lights indicate danger levels. These warning lights are designed to be clearly visible from distances exceeding 5 km under normal conditions. To maximize visibility and effectiveness, the Smart Flood Tower will be installed at the highest available elevated location, ensuring broad visibility across flood-prone communities.
