Project Description: Nupche Likhu Hydropower Project is located in Ramechhap District, Bagmati Province of Nepal. The project utilizes water sources from both Nupche and Likhu River and is being developed in Run of River scheme. The project has been optimized at 57.5 MW with design discharge of 7.11 m3/s and gross head of 1003.5 m.

Scope of Services:

1. Carrying out total 290 m core drilling at different locations of project; Nupche Headworks – 3 nos x 30m, Likhu Headworks – 2 x 20 m, Surge Tank – 1 x 60 m, Outlet Portal – 1 x 50 m and Powerhouse- 2 x 25 m.
2. Carrying out necessary in situ tests; 135 Nos SPT/DCPT tests, 18 Nos Lugeon Tests, 63 Nos water permeability tests;
3. Carrying out laboratory tests of soil samples; grain size distribution, Moisture content, Specific gravity, Atterbeg limit and Direct Shear Test
4. Carrying out laboratory tests of rock samples; unconfined compressive strength tests, Point Load Test, Specific gravity;
5. Carrying out the SRT (Seismic Refraction Tomography) test along 8 SRT lines (Headworks- 3 lines, Surge Tank- 2 lines, Outlet Portal- 2 lines and Powerhouse Area- 2 lines) of total length 2150 meters;
6. Analysis and interpretation of the field data to provide information on different layers of soil, possible depth of bed rock, groundwater table, slope deformation, and plane of weakness and discontinuities;
7. Stake out topographic survey of the drilling points and SRT lines and GIS Mapping of those lines and points.
8. Equipment Used:
   • Drilling Rig, Pumps, Generators – NQ/NX series and accessories
   • SRT Equipment (GEODE SEISMOGRAPH- 24 Channels) with accessories;
   • Total Station (1 set with accessories)
